The end of chapter two

With my new medication for swelling in my brain and the nausea to counteract all that, I was back up and running!  Ate like a queen!!!
Friday I was not apprehensive at all.  Infact, I was just happy we got all our Christmas shopping done and I recieved an early present myself (a beautiful compact camera).
Friday went off without a hitch except for the doctor feeling pretty bad that he was not prepared for my reaction to the radiation and actually thought it would not happen to me.  He appologized and then prescribed me more meds explaining:
It is not the actual days of radiation I just recieved that will do much to the tumour now, it is the next 2 weeks that the radiation kicks butt.  In otherwords, expect to feel like crap for another 2 weeks as the radiation does it's job.  He prescribed (for the next 6 weeks) some stuff for my throat as it will get VERY sore and burned inside and I will have difficulty talking... hummmm LOLOLOL
He also said that I will get thrush in my throat and to eat only soft foods and to take this other kind of medication he also prescribed for 6 weeks.  Sounds all good to me!!  A break to anyone who has to hear me talk and a break to my body to not eat so much food.  :)  Hey! I may even lose some!!!
Anyway, in 6 months time I go back for a follow up to see just where this tumour is going and if we have killed any of it.  Takes 2-3 yrs to see the full capacity of the radiation.  May even shrink the little guy a bit.
Thanks to Naz, he's keeping me updated on my meds and making me take them when I'm supposed to.  Huge turn around as I'm always the one after him to have him take better care of himself. :)  Gotta LUV him!
He doesn't have to remind me much about the anti-nausea, that's a given as my body certainly lets me know!!!
I'll keep this blog updated with my progression until it gets toooo boring and all the days begin to sound the same
